Our very own Eddy Sims threw so well during the Australian Championships it culminated in him being selected as 1st Reserve in the Australian Team and later due to a late withdrawal Eddy now takes that position in the Australian Team.
This team will travel to New Zealand to compete in the Asia/Pacific Cup and will be staying until the following weekend {11th/12th October} to compete in the New Zealand Masters.
Eddy has just returned from a successful jaunt to Malaysia to compete in the Malaysian Open. In his first foray into international waters Eddy was a semi-finalist beaten only by the eventual winner in a very tough field which included international players from Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines.
That latest result saw Eddy move to number 16 in the WDF ranking table and close in on the invitational field jostling for a place at Lakeside for the World Professional Championships in 2009.
The future is looking very bright for Eddy
Eddy has been in the State Team 9 times since 1999 and has gone from strength to strength.

State Reserve Challenge
The weekend of the 11th & 12th October say 9 teams meet at Dandenong to contest the final of the State Reserve Challenge.
On both days there were some great darts thrown. Unfortunately some of sportsmanship left a lot to be desired on the Saturday - it was a LOT better on the Sunday.
It came down to the clash of the 'Giants' - The State Reserve Team and the Geelong Darts Club Super League {GDCSL}. What a match! All bar one singles went to 3 legs and down to the peg on the 3rd legs. GDCSL came through and won.
Congratulations to both teams!!!!!!!!!!
There could only be one winner unfortunately as both side deserved to win.

Oak's Plate Results 2008
There were only 11 teams that entered this year's Oak's Plate; so they were split into two divisions and both divisions played at the Geelong Darts Club.
In Division 1 when GDCSL were playing short so we put 'Casper' in the blank space. Lucia & Pat had to play doubles against Sandy & Casper. The chalker was wondering what the hold up was so decided to ask - the answer she got was that Geelong's other lady was in the loo and they were waiting for her - needless to say they weren't able to live it down all weekend - at least they gave everyone a laugh! Good one ladies!
MDL were too strong for the field - going through undefeated.
The LVMDL & GLDA were on equal points going into the last round. It was so tight - it went down to the very last game with Geelong coming through to take 2nd place
